Last week, I passed the Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) exam after studying for only 3 days.
This certification focuses on Microsoft’s approach to security, compliance, and identity, and how tools like Microsoft Entra, Defender, and Purview work together to protect organizations in the cloud.
After passing Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), I wanted to continue learning how Microsoft handles security in the cloud. The SC-900 felt like the natural next step. I was already familiar with basic cloud concepts, so this one felt easier and more focused.
I kept my preparation simple and direct:
The next day, I booked the exam and passed on the first try.
Compared to AZ-900, this one was definitely easier. The questions were more straightforward, and since I already had a foundation in Azure, most of the topics felt familiar. It focused mainly on understanding concepts, not deep technical details.
The SC-900 is a great certification if you’re starting in cybersecurity or cloud security. It builds a strong foundation and connects well to more advanced Microsoft security certifications.
Passing it in just 3 days reminded me that sometimes, keeping things simple and focused works best.
